Krásny melancholický príbeh o amatérskej ornitologičke Len Howardovej。 Kniha opisuje život talentovanej huslistky， z ktorej sa stala postupne pozorovateľka života vtákov v jej domčeku a záhrade a napísala o jej výskume niekoľko prác。 Doslova sa zžila so svojimi vtáčimi kamarátmi。 Veľmi pekne a s citom napísaný príbeh z vnútorného pohľadu hlavnej postavy。

Het eerste stuk had een voor mij ondraaglijk Downton Abbey gehalte。 Het tweede deel， wanneer Len in Bird Cottage woont， is， ook al blijft het wat wee， interessanter。 Het toont mooi het verschil aan tussen gecontroleerd gedragsonderzoek in een laboratorium en meer anekdotisch onderzoek in de realistische context。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 A heartbreaking story about a woman “researching” birds who gradually tames them enough that they live in her home。 She wrote 2 bestselling books in the 1950s about her research which I plan to read。 Don’t want to give away ending but suffice it to say， her property in England didn’t become a bird sanctuary as she intended。 So very sad。 This book isn’t for everyone; mainly birders or nature lovers。

I don’t think I read the same book as everyone else here。 I found Meijer’s presentation of Len Howard to be a deeply boring and unlikeable character。 I couldn’t relate to her at all。 It took me two and a half months to slog through this 249-page novel。

Na tuto knihu mne nalákal Zanícený knihkupec。 Kniha pojednává o houslistce LEN HOWARDOVÉ， která opouští svou kariéru a rozhodne se přestěhovat do domku na venkově a celý svůj život zasvětila zkoumáním ptáků。 Životní příběh Len Howardové zpracovala nizozemská spisovatelka EVA MEIJEROVÁ。 Autorka v této knize mísí fakta z jejího života a příběhy z jejího díla s fikcí。 Určitě je záslužné， že se autorka rozhodla zpracovat knihu o Len Howardové， poněvadž o jejím životě není moc známo。 Střídají se kapi Na tuto knihu mne nalákal Zanícený knihkupec。 Kniha pojednává o houslistce LEN HOWARDOVÉ， která opouští svou kariéru a rozhodne se přestěhovat do domku na venkově a celý svůj život zasvětila zkoumáním ptáků。 Životní příběh Len Howardové zpracovala nizozemská spisovatelka EVA MEIJEROVÁ。 Autorka v této knize mísí fakta z jejího života a příběhy z jejího díla s fikcí。 Určitě je záslužné， že se autorka rozhodla zpracovat knihu o Len Howardové， poněvadž o jejím životě není moc známo。 Střídají se kapitoly z minulosti a přítomnosti， kapitoly jsou krátké。 Knihu hodnotím na 70 %。Myslím si， že podobnou knihu jsem ještě nečetl， aby nějaký člověk zasvětil celý svůj život opeřencům a věnoval jim hodně času jako Len Howardová， která je důkladně pozorovala， studovala jejich chování a napsala o nich několik knih。 Popravdě řečeno jsem se úplně to této knihy nezačetl， jak jsem očekával， ale asi budu v menšině， protože převažují vysoká hodnocení。Myslím si， že ptáčkové mají svůj rozum a vždy zpříjemní ráno svým cvrlikáním， i když jejich ranní zpěv některým lidem může vadit。 Zamyslel jsem se nad tím， že je fajn， že si mohou zaletět， kam se jim zlíbí a mohou pozorovat svět z výšky。 Stačí jen zamávat křídly a mohou si plachtit。 Občas usednou na venkovní parapet nebo se po něm procházejí a já je někdy pozoruji。 Zejména k nám přilétají holuby a usadí se na venkovním parapetu a někdy také pták， který se jmenuje kuvik a ten je poslem smrti！ Z tohoto opeřence máme vždy obavy， pokud se objeví， protože přináší smutné zprávy。 Kamarád， který bydlí na vesnici， vyrobil budku pro ptáky a do ní pravidelně sype zrní a ptáci se pravidelně slétají a nepochybně jsou rádi， že lidem na nich záleží a zejména v zimním období， kdy je nedostatek potravy。Vzpomínám si， že jsme v minulosti vlastnili knihu， která se jmenovala ATLAS PTÁKŮ a já jsem si v této knize， když jsem byl menší， listoval， ale tuto knihu už nemáme。V závěru knihy se vyskytuje VYSVĚTLENÍ a rovněž 2 černobílé fotografie。 Možná se v knize mohlo nacházet více fotografií s více druhy ptáků， o kterých je v knize pojednáno buď v průběhu samostatného příběhu， anebo fotografie zařadit jako přílohu na konci knihy。Kniha má nádherný přebal， na kterém jsou zobrazeny sýkorky。 Hned bych si ptáčka vzal do dlaně a pohladil si ho。 :）Citáty z knihy， které mne oslovily:Ptáci mi ukazují， že čas není přímka， kterou z něj dělají lidé。 Věci nekončí， jenom mění tvar。 Z pocitu se stává myšlenka， z myšlenky jednání， z jednání myšlenka， z myšlenky pocit。 První pocit se vrátí， maluje pruhy přes nový pocit。 První myšlenka na chvíli usne， pak se zase objeví。 Tak se mísí časy， takhle existujeme v různých okamžicích zároveň。 。。。more

A novel in translation based on the writings and life of an eccentric mid-20thC English amateur scientist？ Sure， why not？！Bird Cottage is not a novel that will light a person on fire， but it is a fine story based on an unforgettable and odd woman who opened her house –– quite literally， her house –– to songbirds in rural England in order to more closely study their habits and intelligence。
